Hot Topic Happy Hours: Voting in the Name of Equity

What does equity mean to you?

To us, it means all voices and perspectives must be represented at the table. Often, conversations about housing, food security, the right to exist in public spaces, public transportation, policing, education, employment and economic issues are held behind closed doors. Equity means decisions impacting Denver citizens need to be made by communities, not for communities.

An equitable Denver would have representation of all backgrounds in leadership roles. It would project the voices of community members rather than speak for them, and prioritize the needs of those otherwise left behind so that all people have a chance to thrive.

Wednesday, October 24th we'll be digging into ballot measures affecting our city and how our state of equity may be affected. We'll have facilitators experienced in Denver's civic affairs guiding us in a community conversation and deconstruct important ballot measures and their projected impact.

This discussion will be held at Whittier Cafe at 1710 E 25th Ave, Denver, CO 80205 and begins at 6pm. Bring your ballot, leave with a vote you're confident in. Reserve your spot at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hot-topic-happy-hours-voting-in-the-name-of-equity-tickets-51162230609
